Work in Progress

From time to time we will display pictures of works in progress.  By viewing these images, you can get a feel for how certain pieces are created.  You will see just how a work emerges from a simple lump of clay.  Who knows, it may even be your next piece....

This is the progression of a free-standing sculpture set upon a base with engraved stars.  The design was taken from an organizational logo.  The completed piece is glazed with a white matt glaze and acrylic paint.

The above pictures show the progression of a wall plaque representing a joint foreign and American business council.  White areas are the result of a clear glaze and the blues are hand-painted acrylics.

The far left picture shows the finished product of the right wall plaque.  It is made of red-earthenware clay and is representative of the state of Maryland, the state of Kentucky and their flags respectively.  It has been sliced into tiles, framed, and almond caulk has been used in between.  A clear glaze has finished the tiles with a nice sheen.

This particular piece has been SOLD and is being used as a retirement gift.  Contact us for your next unique gift idea.

Well...here are the before and after pics.  Amazing what a commercial crystalline glaze can do.

This piece is SOLD, however, if you would like the same or a variation of it, please let us know.  Send an email to customerservice@pottersglow.com

REMEMBER....WE CUSTOMIZE TO YOUR REQUEST

Just wait until you see what "enlightening" effects are to come from this hand-woven piece.

Here you can see the pieces before they were glazed, just after glazing and grouped in the kiln, and the finished results.  Although not yet pictured for all, they were trimmed with copper-wrapped raffia for a more distinguished, decorative touch.

All of our work is 100% original!!  If you are interested these or other works or know someone who would be, please contact us.  We can customize any piece to your specifications.  Please allow sufficient time for the design, construction, and completion of a piece.  Thank you.
